All Crazy Max, all the time.

November 16, 1999 – Kobe, Japan

TARU {CM} & MAKOTO {CM} vs. Susumu Mochizuki & Yasushi Kanda
This is the second time Mochizuki & Kanda have teamed, but it’s very far from the last. MAKOTO joined Crazy Max in the middle of the last tour. MAKOTO and Mochizuki start. MAKOTO hits an implant DDT for 2. TARU hits a back kick. He beats on Mochizuki in the corner. He hits an axe kick for 2. He and MAKOTO continue the bating on the floor, baseball bat included. Back in the ring Crazy Max stays in control. MAKOTO hits a leg lariat. He hits a head scissor takedown off the top. Kanda rushes in so MAKOTO bites him. Kanda hits an elbowdrop as Mochizuki hits a kneedrop. Kanda hits a powerslam. MAKOTO hits a leg lariat. TARU hits chest kicks. He hits an avalanche. He hits the Shattered Dreams. He hits a moonsault for 2. Mochizuki comes in and gets his eyes poked. TARU hits chest kicks. He keeps both opponents from coming back. MAKOTO is nowhere to be found so TARU can’t make the tag. Kanda and Mochizuki hit a double suplex. Kanda hits an elbowdrop for 2. He puts on an armbar. Mochizuki hits an avalanche. Kanda puts on a Boston crab. TARU fights off both opponents, but now MAKOTO blatantly ignores his request for a tag. Kanda and Mochizuki hit a double back suplex. Mochizuki puts on a dragon sleeper. He clotheslines Kanda by mistake. TARU hits Kanda with the TARU Driller. MAKOTO keeps ignoring him. Kanda pops up (lame) and with Mochizuki hits a double exploder. They hit a lariat sandwich for 2. Mochizuki hits the Finlay roll. Kanda hits the flying elbowdrop. Mochizuki hits the Yokosuka Cutter and a northern lights suplex for the win at 13:05. This was slow, boring, and just there to get over MAKOTO’s defiance. However, it is historically significant in that it’s Kanda and Mochizuki’s first win as a team.

CIMA {CM}, SUWA {CM} & Sumo Fuji {CM} vs. Magnum TOKYO, Kenichiro Arai & Masaaki Mochizuki
This match actually occurs later in the episode, but for the sake of my review looking pretty I’m putting it here. Everyone brawls to start. SUWA beats on Arai in the ring. The rest of the match was good if unspectacular action. SUWA attacks Arai after the match.

TARU {CM} vs. Stalker Ichikawa
This match also appears later in the episode, but since I don’t speak Japanese so well and thus don’t understand why they’d change the order of the 11/19/99 matches I’m just reviewing them in chorological order on here. The match is joined in progress with TARU in control. Ichikawa hits a diving attack but it doesn’t take TARU off his feet. Ichikawa hits a head scissor takedown. He hits a baseball slide. He tries to fake a dive but crotches himself in the ropes. He does manage to hit a suicide dive. He hits a chair shot to the face. TARU no-sells it. Ichikawa goes to the eyes. He pours water into Ichikawa’s mouth and then gives him CPR, forcing the water out. This counts as a pin and TARU gets the win at 7:15 shown of 11:03. Seven minutes is too long for Ichikawa’s shtick.

He and TARU trade lariats in an exchange that TOKYO wins for the win at 18:20. This was a bit clipped, but it could have had even more shaved off as it had little flow. The point of the thing was really just to show that MAKOTO has a problem with TARU and not the rest of Crazy Max, so we didn’t need to see the rest of this middling match.

SUWA blocks a chinbreaker and hits the FFF out of the corner for the win at 15:18. I didn’t care for this at all. Both guys seemed gassed and their caches of moves were completely uncomplimentary to each other. A disappointing end to a disappointing episode to be sure.
Rating: **

Dragon Kid yells at SUWA after the match, but Genki Horiguchi keeps him from doing something stupid, like attacking the victorious champion.
